Dragon Ball Z: Kyoushuu! Saiya-jin is a role playing video game and the first Dragon Ball Z console game. It introduced a card-based system for combat and map navigation, continuing the mechanics of Dragon Ball: Daimaō Fukkatsu. Battles feature pseudo-3D perspectives, allowing characters to attack from a distance, retreat quickly, and recreate the aerial combat seen in the original series. The story is based on the Saiyajin Saga and the Garlic Jr. movie. There was a limited edition gold cartridge of the game released. Kyoushuu! Saiyan is also one of the games included in the game compilation J Legend Retsuden for Nintendo 3DS.
